Alan Butler Overall Winner PhotoFollowing on from its success in 2010, the Executive Committee of SOHSA is proud to announce that SOHSA was named the Overall Winner of the Alan Butler Award at the Safety Groups UK luncheon held at the House of Lords on Monday 23 January 2012.

All entries were judged on five key performance questions:

1. How does the group communicate with the members, other health and safety organisations and the wider community?
2. What topics and speakers were included in the group’s annual programme (seminar or similar) and why?
3. How does the group support the HSE and its strategy?
4. How does the group encourage retention and recruitment of members?
5. What single achievement is the group most proud of in the last 12 months and why?

Entries were awarded an Alan Butler ‘Gold’, ‘Silver’, or ‘Bronze’ in recognition of their achievements. To achieve an Alan Butler ‘Gold’ award groups had to demonstrate excellence in all areas. An independent panel than chose an overall winner from the ‘Gold’ awards.

The Sheffield Occupational Health and Safety Association were delighted to be awarded not only  a Gold Award for 2011, but also the Overall Winner title at this years' Safety Groups UK awards luncheon on 23 January 2012 at the House of Lords.
