HSE Safe and Sound - do your bit - Campaign LogoFollowing the successful delivery of HSE’s ‘Safe and sound at work – do your bit’ training initiative, the HSE made a commitment to make the training materials available. After discussions with the National Archives Office over the scope for licensing the ‘do your bit’ training products, the HSE have been instructed that these products must be made freely available to download under the terms of the Open Government Licence arrangements.

This is great news for organisations as these materials can be delivered free of charge in-house and adapted to suite specific requirements. Specifically the license enables users to:

  • copy, publish, distribute and transmit the Information;
  • adapt the Information;
  • exploit the Information commercially for example, by combining it with other information, or by including it in their own product or application.

The Health and Safety Executive is encouraging individuals, training organisations and trade bodies who have the relevant training experience along with a good understanding of the two principal sets of Regulations and ACoP relating to consultation on health and safety, to work with businesses to improve worker involvement and continue to deliver the ‘do your bit’ training. This also applies to any employers who have the necessary resources/knowledge and training expertise to deliver the training in-house.

A full evaluation of the HSE and Premier Partnership delivered initiative will be made available on the HSE web site towards the end of 2012.
