The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992Paul Cook of HSE’s External Guidance Review Team (tel: 0151 951 5798, paul.cook@hse.gsi.gov.uk) has invited RoSPA to find representatives of large and small organisations in the public and private sectors to take part in a workshop they are organising to look at the supporting HSE advice and guidance architecture that surrounds the Workplace Regulations (and ACoP), with a particular focus on workplace temperatures, seeking ideas on areas for improvement.

Paul wants to ‘road test’ some of their proposals for web and other materials that will surround the W(HSW)R ACoP and existing 'Toolbox' information. Paul is looking for some small sized businesses (say less than 25 employees) to look at the general requirements in the WP regs, also medium or larger factory/manufacturing types (e.g. food manufacturers) or any workplace were controlling temperatures (hot or cold) may be an issue.

The workshop will be held on 17 September at British Medical Association's headquarters:

BMA House,
Tavistock Square,
London, WC1H 9JP

If you would like to attend, could you please contact Paul or if he is not available, Chris Rowe (Chris.Rowe@hse.gsi.gov.uk tel: 0207 2273811).
