2012 SOHSA Conference

"90 years of Health and Safety - Past, Present and Future"

This year sees SOHSA reach its 90 year anniversary and to celebrate this momentous occasion our annual conference will look at what has happened, what is happening and what might happen within the field of Health and Safety.

We are honoured to have the Lord Mayor of Sheffield attend to open the proceedings. We also have a keynote address from Roger Bibbings MBE ROSPA’s Occupational Safety Advisor and also Kevin Myers, Deputy Chief Executive of the HSE who will be giving their perspective of current and future trends.

We will be taking a fascinating look along a 'time line' of significant safety related events in the Sheffield area and the influence that SOHSA has had over the years.

Organisational development can have an effect on H&S and we will be looking at how this can impact on, and influence, decisions.

Returning by popular demand is Paul Burnley from DLA Piper who will be giving his view on the role of the individual and what it means for an individual should there be an HSE investigation.

The day will be rounded off by Martin Woodall from Latitude who will provide some useful tools, tips and tricks on influencing people’s behaviour in effecting organisational change.

The day will begin at 9.30am following registration from 08.30 onwards and will close at approximately 15.30pm.

A buffet lunch is included in the price. There is also a free prize raffle. Bring your business card.

Please complete the registration form and submit it as soon as possible to secure your place at this significant and momentous conference
