All officers and committee members are volunteers and give their own time to run the association and organise its' various events and meetings.

Association Officers
Chris Jerman
Chairman
As Safety Manager for John Lewis plc, Chris is responsible for the implementation of the safety management system across the entire JL estate including a large number of retail premises, logistics operations, manufacturing sites and leisure locations. His no-nonsense approach to Safety and 20+ years of experience make him ideally suited to the committee. Chris has provided members with a range of useful talks in the name of sharing best practice in the Association and is speaking at the 2008 SOHSA Conference.
Mark Wait
Vice Chairman
Having worked in the engineering, forging and foundry industries for 30 years, Mark naturally progressed into Health and Safety 10 years ago with the help of past chairman John Pearce and Vice Chairman Tim Hedland. Mark now works for Transition International and her sister company Norton Cast Products in Sheffield. Mark also finds time to play the saxophone in a local band and is a keen ice hockey fan. He is as passionate for his local team the Sheffield Steelers as much as he is about Health and Safety.
Tracy Stubbs Hon. Secretary
Working as training provider at Derbyshire Chamber Training, Tracey Stubbs carries out health and safety assessments on companies to ensure learners are in a safe working environment. Tracey also provides information and training sessions, as required, for both staff and learners.
Philip Marsh
Hon. Ass. Secretary
& Website Administrator
UK Health & Safety Manager at British Glass Manufacturers' Confederation, Philip Marsh is responsible for a number of Industry Committees and working groups tackling a range of issues and topics. His role involves extensive communication and networking with sector, national and international links for lobbying and industry issues and is involved in consultation on both UK and EU directives and legislation. Phil was co-opted to the Executive Committee in 2006 in order build the association's website and has since been voted in as a full member of the committee.
Pat Howard
Hon. Treasurer
Pat Howard is Director of Effingham Steel Services Ltd and has been an active member of the SOHSA Executive Committee for the past 4 years and was voted in as Honary Treasurer of the Association in March 2008. She has also been pivotal in the organisation of the Annual SOHSA Conference.

Mick Blunt
Immediate Past Chairman
Mick Blunt was voted as chairman of the Sheffield Occupational Health and Safety Association (SOHSA) in March 2007. He has a long history working in a range of industries and worked closely with Frank Smith during his career. Following his time with Frank Smith, he pursued a career in Health & Safety taking onboard the concept that the key to successful Health & Safety really is communicating the message - a key objective of SOHSA itself.
Sally Gilmour
Working as Health & Safety Advisor for Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Trust. Sally Gilmour carries out health and safety assessments to ensure staff are working in a safe environment. Sally also investigates incidents, where necessary, and provides information and training sessions.
Tim Hedland
Tim Hedland has many years experience in the field and is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). Having worked in engineering, manufacturing and training businesses during his career, Tim is more than adequately qualified to bring experience to SOHSA and is a valued member of the Executive Committee. Currently acting Vice Chairman he will become Chairman at the 2009 Annual General Meeting.
John Pearce
Past Chairman
John Pearce served as Chairman of the Sheffield Occupational Health and Safety Association between 2004 and 2007 and currently serves the post of Immediate Past Chairman. John is Health and Safety Manager at Derbyshire County Council and is a valued member of the committee.
Carl West
Carl West is Health & Safety Advisor at J West Engineering Co Ltd and has fifteen years experience working in the steel industry. Carl was voted into the Executive Committee at the 2009 Annual General Meeting and has quickly become a useful and valued member of the committee.
