About SOHSA

Information about the Sheffield Occupational Health and Safety Association


Established in 1922, our mission is to "protect people’s health and safety by ensuring risks in the changing workplace are properly controlled". We aim to support local companies and individuals in their quest for improved health and safety performance and thirst for relevant knowledge.



Present group members include safety professionals in engineering sectors, construction, scientific laboratories and research, heavy industries (including steel and glass manufacture), hospitals and first-aid, local councils, theatre, education and training, retail, legal and office sectors.

Membership costs only £40 per year and includes six member meetings on key topics, online resources, networking and more.

Health and Safety is no accident and requires commitment, knowledge and consistency in approach. Sheffield Occupation Health and Safety Association (SOHSA) are committed to supporting local companies and individuals in their quest for improved health and safety performance, and thirst for relevant knowledge. Becoming a member of SOHSA can help companies and individuals alike keep up-to-date with current Health and Safety practices through the network of regular meetings, contacts and communications.

Becoming a member of the Sheffield Occupational Health and Safety Association could not be simpler, please complete an application form - available below - or contact us to find out more.
