It is with regret that we must inform you that the January Members’ Meeting will be cancelled due to the adverse weather conditions hitting the UK. At this time a severe weather warning has been issued for this and other regions of the UK. A large number of you have already tendered apologies for this meeting due to the weather or other commitments and keeping an eye on weather forecasts, taking particular consideration of the likely condition of Shore Lane and the risks posed to members, the executive committee have taken the decision to cancel this meeting.

Please do accept our sincere apologies – we are aware that a large number of you were very keen to hear these topics. As such we will be speaking to our guest speakers to try and reschedule their presentations into other members’ meetings planned for the coming year.

Sheffield Occupational Health and Safety Association Members' Meeting on Tuesday, 12 January 2010, which will cover the topics "First Aid Regulations Update" and "Mental Health". Refreshments are available from 1:30pm with the meeting due to start at 2pm.

First Aid Regulations Update

John Chapman, from Training Ventures Ltd, will present an overview of the changes to the First Aid Regulations and what this means to health and safety professionals. This guest presentation will also cover potential pitfalls of the changes and how these can be avoided, a discussion over why the regulations have been changed and details of how First Aid Training will be affected - including changes to the course.

Mental Health

A guest speaker from Prohms Ltd will present on the topic of Mental Health.
