Hi all

I have health and safety qualifications but feel 'fire' is an area that I need to expand and improve my knowledge. Therefore can anyone recommend any good courses and course providers.

Well it depends what you are after Tracey. You can divide that into general fire awareness. Fire prevention, fire 'risk' assessment as they call it, fire wardens etc etc. I would think that IOSH would provide specialist and general courses.
Morton in Marsh is of course the home of fire awareness and training.

I think that you need to refine your search field a little to get what you want.

I can show you how to use a fire extinguisher if you like. Ha Ha.

Tracey

The best course for you would be the NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management Course.

I know IOSH will have a presentation on The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order together with other information on the 23d June at the Source in Sheffield.

If you go on the Fire Service College website you can access the full list of available courses. If I can be of any further assistance let me know.

Hi Tracey

Terry is right the NEBOSH route is probably the best. Also you would be best doing it soon as the course structure as been amended. Because you have recently passed your Diploma you can get exemption for the risk management element and only carry out the Fire section.

NEBOSH have restructure most of their courses in this way ie Fire, construction and general.

You therefore only get a full NEBOSH qualification if you take both elements. To get an exemption you have to completed you cert or diploma within 5 years

If you are going to go down this route you have to notify them that you have the diploma. They don't check their records.

Hope this helps

Regards

Mark
