Morning all, i am trying to understand how a WEL level for 8 hours exposure of 600ppm is applied, does the 600ppm refer to the total exposure for 8 hours. How would you measure your current workplace exposure?.

Regards

Andy,
You are exactly right it is the total exposure over that time frame. The way it is monitored is by using portable pumps clipped to individuals with a small sample set up with the sample inlet being around the chest area. The sampling can be done over a shorter amount of time and can be multiplied up to determine the concentration over 8 hours. We have a number of occupational monitoring campaigns running throughout our laboratories and I would be happy to recommend the company we use to do this work. Thanks, Ben (07976 215280)
