When this new legislation comes in on 1st June will it affect people who use chemicals or those who produce them?
My understanding is that the user does not have to register, however they might be affected if the chemical they use is considered to be 'dangerous' and therefore gets withdrawn.
Can anyone throw any more light on the subject and is there anything that users ought to be doing in preparation?
Thanks,
Tim Hedland.

Hi Tim
And welcome to the site ---
The HSE have been awarded the implementation of REACH and have a website and phone line offering help --- I will see that a link is set up from this site.
The supplier of the chemical should go through the registration process before it gets to you. However if you should mix that chemical with anything else then you have made a unique cocktail which should be registard.
it should also be noted that a real danger to small business is that manufacturers may withdraw chemicals that are supplied in small quantity as it will be more cost effectice than going through the registration process
hope this helps

Declan,
Thanks for the info on the above, I'm pleased to say that it is unlikely to affect us.
