Does anyone have any experience with what are termed 'anti-fatigue' mats - designed for workers standing for periods of time during their activities?

Any information greatly appreciated

Regards,

Phil

Hi Phil

Heard of it but never used it. Just looked in the Arco Book 2010 / 2011 pages 775 and 776 if that's any help

Regards

Mark

We had one at the last place for the guy that worked on the radial arm drill all day. Not sure if they work or not though

We used them at my previous company (Stelrad Radiators) and they were well received by the operators using them

Incredible effect in my opinion. I can't give brands, makes etc, but all of those that I have walked on have an instant effect.

I introduced them in the factory where I worked for people who stood on concrete floor doing bench work. They were so well received that those who didn't have them almost fought to get them. They definately reduced fatigue and had a beneficial effect on production (although I can't quantify that). Just beware of creating a trip hazard though.

They are used in Costco on the checkouts, they make a big difference regarding fatigue on a long shift. However they bought a style that then created a trip hazard, so are not popular, beveled edges would have helped . Make sure they suitable for your specific workplace.
