I am currently in the process of reviewing our fire wardens list for one of our offices due to changes in personnel and office moves. The problem I am encountering is that the few staff who are office based do not want to take on the role, and a large proportion of staff are either part time or out of the office. We could end up with a large number of fire wardens yet not one be in the office in the event of a fire or all be in and confusion as to who is to sweep.

Has anyone else encountered this problem in their workplace and if so how did you overcome it?
Is there an alternative to having fire wardens?

We do also have a signing in/out system.

Any suggestions would be really appreciated!

We've had similar issues with many often being out of the office. Would you be able to identify a warden and deputy warden for each sweep path/area?
