This is going to be a long process and it is envisaged that it will be done over quite a few years
As classifacation of various chemicals becomes clearer the way forward will be appearent
We will endevour to use this site to keep everyone updated
it is still very early days

I have more information about these Regulations now though I expect to be retired before I have to enforce it. There are many areas exempted especially if products are naturally produced. Basically, DEFRA are the policy leaders and will provide support on policy issues. There will be some leaflets available in the near future on the HSE REACH website and the helpdesk can help with interpretation and provide network contacts with other UK 'helpdesk' providers. You can call them on 0845 408 9575 or, e-mail UKREACHCA@hse.gsi.gov.uk. There is a looonngg lead in period but organisations must start to determine if they have to pre-register. Hope this helps
Diane

There are some fantastic links here which i am sure will only get better as time goes by.

I have used the phone number in the past and they were most helpful

I've just discovered another website on this subject, which I hope others may find useful:

www.reachready.co.uk

reachready.co.uk provides some useful information on the new legislation as well as a range of tools that can help organisations identify what they may need to do in order to comply - whether suppliers, importers, manufacturers or downstream users.

As far as I can see, the site is free to use - including the audit tools.

Hope this helps,

Phil
