A self-employed worker's five-metre fall has cost a timber frame construction company £21,000 in fines and costs.The subcontracted timber frame erector fell through an inadequately covered stairwell while working for ECH (trading as Maple Timber Frames) on a self-build project in Tunbridge Wells in November 2008.
