Sheila Merrill, public health adviser at the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), said: “RoSPA has welcomed today’s announcement by the Department of Health that Dr Michael McBride, the Chief Medical Officer in Northern Ireland, and the four public health agencies, are to work with RoSPA to develop life-saving strategies to combat accidental blind cord deaths."
